The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of tools and gas from a pickup parked outside a home in the 400 block of Thoreau Trail in High Ridge. The 2021 GMC Sierra and tools are owned by KCL Lawncare in Maryland Heights, authorities reported.
The theft occurred between about 11 p.m. June 10 and 5:30 a.m. June 11. The victim told deputies the pickup was unlocked and a key to a toolbox was inside the Sierra, the report said.
About $4,300 worth of tools were stolen, and about $200 worth of gas was syphoned from one of the pickup’s two fuel tanks, according to the report.
As of June 14, none of the tools had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
