Arnold Police arrested three St. Louis men near the Fox C-6 Service Center for reportedly attempting to steal fireworks from an Atomic Fireworks semi-truck trailer. The men, ages 29, 44 and 52, allegedly were seen in surveillance footage stealing the fireworks, and officers allegedly found $6,305 worth of fireworks in an SUV parked near the trailer, police reported.

Arnold Police were called at about 4:10 a.m. July 4 to the Atomic Fireworks storage lot, 241 Arnold Crossroads Center, when a 2006 Nissan Armada was seen in surveillance footage parked near the trailer. When officers arrived, they spotted the three men near the trailer and Armad, but the allegedly ran away, the report said.

Officers found a padlock was cut off the trailer’s doors and boxes of fireworks were found in the Armada, according to the report.

At about 4:40 a.m., an officer saw the men behind the Service Center, 849 Jeffco Blvd. The men ran into a nearby wooded area, but officers found them and arrested them, the report said.

The men were taken to the Police Station, where they were booked and released pending application for charges, according to the report.

Arnold Police will seek charges against the men through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for stealing, resisting arrest by flight, property damage and trespassing, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
