The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office arrested a 46-year-old St. Louis man after he allegedly was caught trying to cut the catalytic converter off a pickup outside Dynamite Deals, 802 Butler Court, between Fenton and Arnold. A 39-year-old St. Louis woman who was waiting for the man also was arrested, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies were called to the dealership on Dec. 3 after a neighbor reported hearing a grinding sound coming from the business. When deputies arrived, they allegedly saw the man using a Milwaukee reciprocating saw to cut the converter off the 2010 Ford F-250, the report said.
The woman who was waiting for the man inside a 2004 Ford F-250 in the parking lot was wanted by Sunset Hills Police on a traffic warrant, so both she and the man were arrested. They were taken to Jefferson County Jail, where they were booked, the report said.
The woman was held for Sunset Hills Police, and the man was released pending application for a warrants. The Sheriff’s Office will see a charge against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for first-degree property damage, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.
