Cash and tools recently were stolen from McElroy Metal in the 300 block of North Valley Dell in the Fenton area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The burglary occurred between 12:30 p.m. Nov. 1 and 6 a.m. Nov. 2.

Someone forced open the front door to get inside and stole about $150 in cash, a DeWalt screw gun, two pair of tin snips and a hand truck, the report said.

The damage to the door and the stolen items were valued at $580, according to the report.

As of Nov. 6, the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
