The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent burglary at a home in the 15000 block of Dickinson Road in the De Soto area. The burglary happened about 3:20 p.m. Nov. 25, the report said.

The victim told deputies he found the front door to the home open and when he went inside, three white men were there but ran away. The victim said the door jamb was broken, so the culprits had forced it open. He also said he had seen a silver or gray four-door vehicle drive up and park on the dead-end street and the men fled in it, according to the report.

The victim said it looked like the men had a red item with them that they placed in the vehicle, so they may have stolen some kind of power tool from the home. As of Wednesday (Nov. 30), however, the Sheriff’s Office had not received a report about what exactly had been stolen if anything, Lt. Gary Higginbotham said.

He also said there had been no suspects identified nor arrests made. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
