Bicycles and power tools were reported stolen from a Eureka-area home, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The incident occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Aug. 19 in the100 block of Jim Shell Drive while the family was attending church. Upon returning, the family discovered the house’s garage door open, the report said.
The deputy said investigation showed forced entry through a rear door, which damaged the wooden frame.
Items missing, all from the garage, include two Mongoose BMX bicycles, two electric weed trimmers, a welding machine, a chain saw and a chop saw.
Estimated value of the stolen items is $2,000.
Sgt. Matthew Moore of the Sheriff’s Office said Aug. 27 none of the items had been recovered and there had been no arrests.
