A large TV, a microwave, an air compressor, tools and other items recently were stolen from a home in the 6300 block of Hwy. Y in the Hillsboro area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 12 and Oct. 16, while the owner was away, the report said.
At about 11 p.m. Oct. 16, the owner went to the home and noticed that someone had forced open a basement window and cut away copper water pipe. However, the pipe wasn’t taken, but instead was left in the basement, according to the report.
Other items were stolen, though, including a 52-inch, flat-screen TV; a black microwave oven; a DeWalt air compressor; a Hitachi miter saw; a DeWalt brad nailer; various hand tools; and about 15 bottles of wine, altogether valued at about $800, the report said.
As of Oct. 23, the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
