Eureka Police are seeking a man who allegedly pointed a knife at a Walmart loss prevention employee. The employee said he was following the man around the store because he appeared to be shoplifting, Eureka Police Lt. Michael Werges said.
The incident happened at about 3 p.m. May 14 at the Eureka Walmart, 131 Eureka Towne Center Drive. As the employee followed the suspect, he turned around, pointed the knife at the employee and told him to stop following him, police reported.
After that, the loss prevention officer returned to his office and watched the suspect leave the store through the market doors. The store is being remodeled so employees could not get video or photos of the suspect, who was white and appeared to be in his 20s or 30s, Werges said.
He also said the man was wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweatpants, glasses and a yellow flat-billed baseball cap. The man also had a scruffy bread.
The employee said he believed the suspect had stolen something from the housewares department.
