Eureka Police arrested a 28-year-old Breckenridge Hills woman for allegedly driving a stolen rental SUV to the Sushi Ai restaurant, 115 W. Fifth St. The woman was wanted by several law enforcement agencies on warrants, police reported.

At about 9:35 p.m. June 18, officers were notified by Flock license-plate reading cameras that a 2024 Hyundai Palisade that had been reported stolen by Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Berkeley had entered Eureka. Officers found the SUV parked outside the restaurant, and they stopped the woman when she exited Sushi Ai and before she got into the Palisade, the report said.

The woman allegedly told the officers her uncle rented the SUV, and they had been driving it for a month. She was not able to provide a rental agreement, according to the report.

Officers then discovered the woman was wanted on warrants by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Bel-Nor, St. Louis County, St. Louis, Frontenac, Chesterfield and St. Charles police departments. The Sheriff’s Office said they wanted to extradite the woman, the report said.

The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and then transported to Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to the report.
