Codi James Faries, 30, who lives west of Pevely, was recently arrested on charges for allegedly breaking into and stealing items from an Imperial home, according to jail and court records.
Faries was arrested Feb. 23, and as of Feb. 25, he was being held on a $5,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, jail records said.
He has been charged with felony second-degree burglary and misdemeanor stealing, according to court documents.
According to a probable-cause statement filed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Faries on Aug. 6 entered a home through a rear sunroom door in the 1000 block of Mulberry Lane in Imperial. He allegedly stole a record player, deck of cards, two wallets and a set of matchbooks.
The items were worth a total of $697, the report said.
Deputies found Faries near the home, and they allegedly found the stolen items in the bed of a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado that he had driven to the house. A man told deputies that he saw Faries removing the items from the home, according to the report.
