summons to appear

A 36-year-old Pacific woman and a 28-year-old Arnold man have been issued summonses for allegedly stealing a generator from First Baptist Church of Arnold, 2012 Missouri State Road. The generator was valued at $500, Arnold Police reported.

The theft happened about 12:10 p.m. Nov. 30. The two allegedly used a Ford Focus to tow the Briggs and Stratton generator away from the church parking lot, the report said.

The Focus belongs to Jim Butler Chevrolet in Fenton, which had loaned the car to the man while his vehicle was being repaired at the dealership. Police located the man at his Arnold home, and he allegedly told them he helped the woman take the generator after she told him it had been abandoned at the church. He said they drove the generator to a home in Pacific, according to the report.

Officers were unable to locate the woman, so a summons was mailed to her to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for stealing, and the man was issued a summons after police found him at his home. As of Dec. 10, the generator had not been returned to the church, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
