A riding lawn mower and other items recently were stolen from a shed in the 10000 block of Stroup Road in the Festus area. The theft happened between 11 a.m. July 11 and 6:30 p.m. July 19, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
In addition to a blue 2012 Dixon 52-inch, zero-turn lawn mower, stolen items included two wooden loading ramps and metal grips. Altogether, the items were valued at $4,900, the report said.
It looked like the culprit had removed two screws from the handle of the shed to get inside it and steal the items. As of July 26, the stolen items had not been recovered, said Detective Sgt. Jim Kausler of the Sheriff’s Office.
