A 20-year-old Arnold man and a 20-year-old Barnhart woman said they refused to pay $500 to someone they sent compromising photos to through a dating app. The man reported the alleged extortion scheme to Arnold Police and told them he and his fiancee wanted to add a woman to their relationship, so they joined a dating app called Feeld to find another partner, the report said.
Feeld says on its website that it is the first dating app for couples and singles and is “a pioneer in enabling pairs to explore dating together.”
The couple connected with someone who used the name “Jesshud,” and the person reportedly requested that the Arnold man and Barnhart woman send nude photos. After the couple sent the photos, the person called Jesshud allegedly demanded they pay $500 or the photos would be sent to their family members, friends and employer, the report said.
The couple did not pay the money and reported the scheme to Arnold Police on July 21. As of July 29, the couple was not aware of anyone receiving the photos, according to the report.
Arnold Police are attempting to identify the user called Jesshud through various databases, but as of July 29, no suspect had been identified, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
