Oct. 15 UPDATE:
James Thomas Dixon, 44, of Pevely allegedly fired a gun at a family member during an argument last week. The family member was not hit by the bullet or injured, according to court documents.
Dixon has been charged with first-degree domestic assault, a class B felony punishable by five to 15 years in prison; and armed criminal action, an unclassified felony that carries a penalty of three to 15 years in prison, court records show.
As of Tuesday, Dixon was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court documents said. No attorney was listed for Dixon in court papers.
Pevely Police were called at about 4:55 p.m. Oct. 9 to home in the 900 block of Landmark Manor for shots fired, Capt. Don Moore said.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, Dixon and another man were drinking alcohol when they started to argue. Dixon then pulled out a pistol and allegedly pointed it at the other man’s head before shooting the gun one time.
Moore said Pevely Police recovered a gun at the house.
