man in handcuffs

A 31-year-old Imperial man was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine after he reportedly damaged a light fixture outside Rickman Auditorium in Arnold. Police were called to the auditorium, 747 Jeffco Blvd., because the man allegedly was seen throwing objects at it, Arnold Police reported.

At about 9:45 p.m. May 26, officers reportedly found the man hiding near the building, but he refused to talk to them. The man was detained while the officers searched the outside of the building, and they discovered a damaged light fixture on the south side of the auditorium and a broken piece of concrete under the damaged light. The damage to the light fixture was estimated at $250, Arnold Police reported.

Officers arrested the man, and they allegedly found a bag with a crystal-like substance believed to be meth and a red straw with a crystal-like residue on it in the man’s shirt pocket, the report said.

The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree property damage, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
