man in handcuffs

A 32-year-old Imperial man recently was arrested in Arnold for domestic assault, failure to comply with an officer and resisting arrest. Arnold Police got a call at 12:43 p.m. Aug. 10 that there was a disturbance at the BP station, 3998 Jeffco Blvd., involving the man and his girlfriend, a report said.

By the time officers arrived, the two were gone, but later were found outside the Sav-A-Lot store, 3610 Richardson Square, in Arnold. When officers questioned them, the man allegedly admitted that he had choked his girlfriend while they were at the BP station, according to the report.

While officers were trying to take the man into custody, he allegedly pulled away and then kicked at officers. Eventually, officers had to use a Taser to subdue him, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

The man was booked and then, after complaining about pre-existing medical conditions, was released to Rock Township Ambulance District personnel. Arnold Police will seek charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Jones said.
