Traci Jamar Herring, 24, of Festus has been sentenced to seven years in prison after a Jefferson County judge revoked his probation following a recent arrest. It was the second time a judge has revoked Herring’s probation, according to court documents.
Jefferson County Div. 3 Circuit Court Judge Travis Partney on Sept. 9 revoked Herring’s probation and executed the seven-year sentence for possession of a controlled substance. Herring’s probation was revoked due to him being arrested on July 18 by Festus Police, court documents said.
Court records do not show any charges filed against Herring stemming from the July arrest.
Jefferson County assistant attorney Lindsay Whalen prosecuted the case.
In May 2024, Herring pleaded guilty to the drug charge he received following an arrest in February 2023 and was sentenced to prison. However, the sentence was suspended, and he was placed on five years’ probation, court documents show.
Herring had his probation revoked in July 2024, but the execution of the seven-year sentence was suspended again and he was placed on five years’ probation, court records said.
According to the probable-cause statement, Festus Police at about 11:35 p.m. Feb. 16, 2023, stopped a Chevrolet Equinox that Herring was driving the parking lot outside of the former Majik Market, 103 Walnut St. The officer arrested Herring because his driver’s license was revoked and he was wanted on multiple warrants.
At the Police Station, an officer found a bag with 10 pink star-shaped tablets in Herring’s pocket. Herring told the officer that he distributed the tablets, the report said.
In September 2023, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab identified the tablets as methamphetamine, according to the report.
