The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a CAT skid steer grapple bucket and other tools from a lot in the 6100 block of Hwy. 61-67 in Imperial, authorities reported.
Deputies were called on Feb. 17 to the lot after the victim discovered the theft. The victim said he had not been at the lot for about two months and could not say when the items were stolen, the report said.
Because of the size of the grapple bucket, it is believed heavy machinery was used to steal it. An enclosed trailer also was damaged and tools were stolen from it, according to the report.
An estimated value for the stolen items and cost to repair the trailer were not reported.
As of Feb. 20, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
