Arnold Police arrested a 62-year-old Imperial man after a short pursuit into south St. Louis County. The officers stopped the man, who was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy, because Flock license plate-reading cameras alerted them that the license plates on the SUV were stolen, police reported.

Officers got the alert about the SUV around 9 a.m. April 20 when it was traveling on Hwy. 141. An officer turned on his cruiser’s lights and siren, but the man did not pull over and instead turned onto northbound I-55, the report said.

The cruiser continued to follow the Envoy on the interstate until the driver got off the Meramec Bottom Road exit in south St. Louis County and stopped. Neither the SUV nor cruiser traveled above the speed limit during the pursuit, according to the report.

Officers discovered the man was wanted on warrants from the Arnold, St. Louis County, Sunset Hills and St. Louis police departments. Arnold Police arrested the man on the warrants and transported him to the Arnold Police Station, where he was held for Sunset Hills Police, the report said.

Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said the man also was issued citations to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for alleged possession of stolen property, driving with a revoked license and failure to yield.
