This home on Boca Raton in the Bayshore subdivision in Arnold was damaged by fire.

A home in the 3300 block of Boca Raton Drive in Arnold was severely damaged by fire last week. No one was home at the time of the fire, the Rock Community Fire Protection District reported.

At approximately 5:45 p.m. April 23, Rock Fire got a call about the fire at the home in the Bayshore subdivision, and when firefighters arrived at the scene at about 5:50 p.m., they saw flames through the home’s front window. They entered the house through the front door and quickly got the fire under control, spokeswoman Stephanie Jackson said.

Most of the fire was contained to a bedroom, the report said.

Jackson said Monday, April 25, it was unknown how the fire started or what room it started in, but it was not suspicious.

She said the home was deemed uninhabitable, and the Red Cross assisted the homeowner. She also said she did not know how many people lived at the house.

The Antonia and Mehlville fire protection districts helped with the call, and the Rock Township Ambulance District also responded to the scene.
