Grace Hatchet, 43, of the 300 block of Mount Everest Drive in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton has been charged with one count of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a 35-year-old St. Louis County man.
On Feb. 24, Hatchet was with the victim, Eddie Byrd, in his car at 8300 Hatina Drive in Berkeley in north St. Louis County and notified her associate about their location, allegedly setting up Byrd to be robbed, the probable-cause statement said.
The associate allegedly showed up and shot Byrd, who died at the scene, the report said.
Authorities did not provide any information about the alleged shooter.
Hatchet allegedly admitted to the crime, according to the report.
She was charged today (June 13) with second-degree murder, a class A felony punishable by 10 to 30 years or life in prison, and was being held at the St. Louis County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
