A fire destroyed a Fenton mobile home on Feb. 14 and displaced the occupant, said Ryan Lesh, the Saline Valley fire marshal.

He said the fire district responded about 7 p.m. to a call about a fire at a mobile home in the 600 block of North Low View Drive in the Court Fairview Mobile Home Park in the Jefferson County part of Fenton. Firefighters arrived within four minutes of the call, he said.

“Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters reported heavy fire coming from underneath the mobile home,” Lesh said. “Multiple attack lines were pulled to contain the fire and keep the fire from spreading to nearby mobile homes. Extensive overhaul was required by fire crews to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.”

He said the fire was brought under control by 7:38 p.m, and crews left the scene at 9:09 p.m. No injuries were reported from the incident, he said.

Lesh said the mobile home is considered a total loss. A cause of the fire has not been determined, but the fire is not considered suspicious, he said.

The lone occupant of the mobile home was not at home at the time of the fire and the district has not been able to contact him, Lesh said.

The High Ridge and Fenton fire protection districts, Rock Township Ambulance District and Jefferson County 911 Dispatch assisted with the call, he said.
