A generator was stolen from a house under construction on Forby Road in Eureka. The heavy-construction, industrial generator was valued at $10,000, Eureka Police Lt. Michael Werges said.
He said the generator was stolen between 2:45 p.m. May 7 and May 9. A neighbor noticed the missing generator, and the owner reported it missing May 9.
Werges said the owner of the house had the generator wired to the house and bolted to a slab of concrete. The generator's wires and bolts had been cut and tire marks were found from the front of the house to the back of the house, leading to the generator, police reported.
Werges said when generators are stolen, they typically are pawned for money.
As of May 24, the generator had not been recovered and no suspects had been identified, Werges said.
