A 55-year-old Eureka woman was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated after she was seen driving a white 2015 Infiniti QX60 erratically in the area of Fox Creek and Six Flags roads and on I-44, Eureka Police reported.
A motorist flagged down an officer at about 4:30 p.m. Jan. 2 about the Infiniti. The officer saw the SUV get onto eastbound I-44 and allegedly saw the Infiniti swerve between lanes, the report said.
The officer stopped the woman near the Hwy. 109 exit. The woman told the officer she had not consumed alcohol in 25 years, according to the report.
However, the officer allegedly smelled alcohol on her breath, and he requested she perform field sobriety tests. She allegedly failed the tests and was arrested, the report said.
Officers also allegedly found at least four empty alcohol containers in the SUV’s glove box, according to the report.
The woman was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released, the report said.
The woman was issued summons to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for alleged DWI and improper lane use, Lt. Michael Tapp said.
