Eureka Police patch

Eureka Police arrested a 45-year-old woman, who does not have a listed address, for alleged drug possession after stopping a pickup she was traveling in. The woman also was wanted on an active warrant, police reported.

Officers saw a 2013 Ford F-250 just after midnight on Jan. 12 traveling north on Hwy. 109, and the pickup was hauling a trailer that had a license plate that was reported stolen by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. The officers stopped a man, who was driving the pickup, at the QuikTrip gas station, 290 E. Fourth St., the report said.

The man told the officers he had purchased the trailer and provided a bill of sale. However, the license plate did not match the paperwork, and the vehicle identification number on the trailer did not match the license plate, according to the report.

The trailer also did not match the description provided by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. The officers took the license plate off the trailer and released the man, the report said.

The officers arrested the woman on the active warrant, and they allegedly found she had a glass smoking pipe with burnt residue. When the officers searched the pickup, they allegedly found a bag with a crystal-like substance by the passenger’s seat, according to the report.

The woman was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released pending the application for warrants, the report said.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the woman through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Lt. Brent Grittini said.
