A woman who allegedly attempted to sell drugs at a Dittmer gas station has been charged with two felonies. She was arrested after a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw her in a pickup that was stolen in Jasper County, court records said.
The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on June 18 charged Devon Barbara Eslow, 35, of Grubville with second-degree drug trafficking, a class B felony punishable by five to 15 years in prison, and possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony that carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison, according to court documents.
Eslow was arrested on June 29, and as of July 2, she was being held on a $50,000-surety bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court papers said.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, a deputy on Feb. 17 saw a 2018 GMC Sierra that had been reported stolen parked at the BP gas station, 10054 Hwy. Y, in Dittmer. After arresting Eslow, the deputy allegedly found a bag with two orange pills and a bag with a white substance in her pocket.
Eslow allegedly told the deputy the white substance was fentanyl, and she was going to sell it to someone at the gas station, the report said.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tested the substances, and the powder tested positive as fentanyl and the pills tested positive as alprazolam, a schedule IV controlled substance, according to the report.
