1 p.m. UPDATE: A 77-year-old Imperial woman died Tuesday afternoon, April 7, in a two-vehicle crash at Old Hwy. 21 and East Four Ridge Road near House Springs, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The Highway Patrol no longer identifies individuals involved in vehicle crashes. On Wednesday afternoon, the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Diane Virginia Klamert.
The Highway Patrol reported Klamert was driving an eastbound 2023 Chevrolet Malibu and failed to yield to a southbound 2017 Mack GU driven by a 47-year-old Fenton man and traveled through a stop sign at the intersection. The dump truck driver attempted to avoid striking the Chevrolet in the intersection by steering to the left but struck the left side of the Chevrolet. Both vehicles skidded into the northbound lanes of the highway. Klamert was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:17 p.m. by Joachim-Plattin Fire Protection District personnel.
The Chevrolet was totaled and the dump truck had extensive damage. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the report said.
