Christopher A. Moriarty, 43, of Imperial has been charged with 14 felonies, accusing him of engaging in sexual misconduct and providing marijuana and alcohol to at least five girls over a 10-month period, according to court documents.
The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on Tuesday, March 25, charged him with four counts of enticement or attempted enticement of a child younger than 15 years old, an unclassified felony; three counts of sexual misconduct in involving a child younger than 15, a class E felony; three counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy of a child younger than 14, an unclassified felony; one count of first-degree statutory rape or attempted statutory rape of a child younger than 14, an unclassified felony; one count of third-degree child molestation of a child younger than 14, a class C felony; one count of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child creating a substantial risk, a class D felony; and one count of possession of child pornography, a class D felony, court records show.
As of today, March 26, Moriarty was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court documents.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, five girls, who were all younger than 15, described numerous inappropriate acts by Moriarty that occurred between June 2024 through March 24.
Moriarty allegedly simulated spanking one of the girls, and that same girl also said he would encourage her to engage in sexual activity with another of the alleged victims. The girl also told investigators when she was filming a TikTok in which she was covered in wrapping paper, Moriarty attempted to tear all the paper away to expose her naked body, the report said.
Moriarty allegedly admitted in a police interview that he tore a piece of the wrapping paper from the girl’s body, but he then told her to put clothes on, according to the report.
Another one of the alleged victims told investigators that Moriarty offered to buy her a vape if she engaged in sexual acts with another one of the girls, the report said.
She also told investigators she and another one of the girls would drink alcohol until they were intoxicated and then engage in sexual activity. She said Moriarty recorded them having sex and showed her the video, according to the report.
The same victim, who said Moriarty recorded the video, told investigators that he touched her inappropriately, grabbed her by the throat and held her down while another girl performed sexual acts on her, the report said.
Another alleged victim told investigators that Moriarty and one of the girls would offer her marijuana and alcoholic beverages, and on one occasion, Moriarty offered her pineapple juice that one of the other girls had poured vodka into, the report said.
That same girl also said Moriarty would pressure her to have sex with one of the girls, and she told investigators that on a different occasion he undressed in front of her, exposing himself, according to the report.
A fourth girl told investigators nothing sexual happened between her and Moriarty, but she said he would provide her with marijuana and alcohol, the report said.
A fifth girl said Moriarty was aware that she and the other girls would smoke marijuana and drink alcohol, and he often was with them while they smoked and drank. She also described times when she would fall asleep but would wake up either naked or only in her underwear, according to the report.
When Moriarty’s home was searched, investigators reported finding items, such a Pink Whitney vodka bottle, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, sex toys and a camera, that some of the alleged victims described. Investigators also allegedly found nude images of one of the girls in a Snapchat account that he accessed with his cell phone and a picture of him naked with an unidentified woman, the report said.
The unclassified felony charges of statutory rape and sodomy carry penalties of five years to life in prison for each charge, and the unclassified felony charges for enticement are punishable by five to 30 years in prison.
