The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of vehicles from ADESA St. Louis, an auto auction company in Barnhart. A 2012 red Toyota Camry and a 2012 silver Dodge Journey, together valued at $10,900, were stolen, the Sheriff's Office reported.
The car and SUV were scheduled to be transported to the Car-Mart of Rolla, but the vehicles did not arrive as scheduled on Feb. 24. The vehicles were stolen at about 4 a.m. Feb. 22 from the business at 7858 Hwy. 61-67, the report said.
The keys to the Toyota and Dodge were on the floorboard of a third vehicle parked outside the Barnhart business. It was not known if the three vehicles were locked, according to the report.
As of March 3, the car and SUV had not been recovered, and there were no suspects, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.
