Michael Kreitler, 54, of Byrnes Mill has been charged with a felony for allegedly distributing child pornography, according to court documents.
Kreitler, who was a counseling supervisor at Lutheran Family and Children’s Services, allegedly sent an undercover officer two links to download hundreds of videos and images of child pornography, specifically of minor boys engaged in sexual activity, the probable-cause statement in the case said.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged him on March 11 with first-degree promoting child pornography, a class B felony punishable by five to 15 years in prison . He was being held in the St. Louis County Jail on a $75,000 cash-only bond, St. Louis County Police said.
It’s not known if there were victims other than those shown in the photos and videos, but as part of his job with Lutheran Family and Children’s Services, he was often in “direct contact with children,” the report said.
