Investigators search a Mazda SUV that was driven this morning to Festus City Hall and Police Station on Tuesday morning by a woman who allegedly told officers she killed two of her children.

Arnold Police are investigating the theft of batteries and wiring from a tractor-trailer parked outside the McDonald’s restaurant, 2005 Richardson Road. The cost to replace the stolen items and repair the tractor-trailer was estimated at $1,200, police reported.

A 46-year-old Arnold man said he parked his 2003 Freightliner at the McDonald’s at about 10 a.m. June 1 and discovered the items missing at about 9:40 a.m. June 2, the report said.

As of June 8, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
