The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of batteries from recreation vehicles parked at an RV lot in the 2000 block of South Covered Bridge Drive in the Fenton area.
Between 2 p.m. April 20 and 1:05 p.m. April 23, someone stole seven RV batteries, altogether valued at about $1,500, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The person who owns the RV lot told deputies that someone tampered with battery terminals and cut wires to remove the batteries, the report said.
In addition, he told deputies that he saw a black pickup speeding away from the lot on May 20, but he wasn’t able to get the license plate number, according to the report.
The batteries had not been recovered and there were no suspects or arrests as of Wednesday (April 30), said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
