The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of approximately 300 feet of wire that belongs to AT&T following an accident in the 800 block of Romaine Creek Road in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, authorities reported.
The wire was reported stolen by an AT&T employee on June 27. The wire had been knocked down following an accident the night before, the report said.
The Sheriff’s Office did not provide an estimated value for the wire, and it didn’t report an approximate cost to replace the wire.
As of July 2, the wire had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
