A 36-year-old Arnold woman was arrested after officers found her driving a car that was reported stolen in St. Louis County. The woman also was wanted by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia on a warrant for drug-related activity, Arnold Police reported.

At about 5:25 p.m. April 22, officers stopped a 2018 Dodge Charger in the Walmart parking lot, 2201 Michigan Ave., because of the warrant attached to the car, the report said.

After inspecting the Charger, an officer saw the vehicle identification number (VIN) plate on the dashboard was allegedly altered. When the officer found the secondary VIN plate, he learned the car was reported stolen by St. Louis County Police, according to the report.

The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she was held for extradition, the report said.

Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for first-degree tampering and altering a vehicle’s VIN plate, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
