An Arnold Post Office employee was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after she allegedly hit a fellow employee’s car in the parking lot when she arrived at work at 1314 Jeffco Blvd. The suspect, a 54-year-old Arnold woman, did not tell anyone about the accident until after the car alarm went off, and she was questioned about it, Arnold Police reported.
In addition, the woman allegedly registered .161 blood-alcohol content, more than twice the legal limit, the report said. In Missouri, .08 percent is the legal limit.
At about 8:30 a.m. June 17, the suspect, who was driving a 2009 GMC Sierra, allegedly hit a 38-year-old Arnold woman’s 2014 Honda Accord. The alleged victim also works at the Post Office, and she went out to the parking lot when she heard her car alarm going off after the suspect entered the building to work, according to the report.
When officers questioned the suspect about the accident, she allegedly said she had hit the parked car. She also appeared to be intoxicated and allegedly failed field sobriety tests, Arnold Police report.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released with summonses to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for DWI and leaving the scene of an accident, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
