Arnold Police arrested three men for allegedly stealing street signs for lettered streets along Starling Airport Road. Officers arrested an 18-year-old St. Louis County man, a 19-year-old Fenton man and a 21-year-old High Ridge man, police reported.
Officers were called at about 10:50 p.m. March 21 after someone reported that men in a black 2004 Dodge Ram were stealing street signs near the intersection of Starling Airport Road and D Street. The officers saw the pickup near the intersection of Starling Airport Road and Jeffco Boulevard and stopped the Ram, the report said.
The officers found signs for A, B and D streets in the pickup’s bed and saw the damaged signs’ poles, according to the report.
The three men were arrested and taken to the Police Station, where they were booked and released with summons to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for stealing and property damage, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
Public Works Director Judy Wagner said it will cost approximately $900 to replace the street signs and poles.
