Arnold Police will seek drug trafficking charges against a 39-year-old Pevely woman after she allegedly was found with fentanyl and methamphetamine during a traffic stop, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
The woman was arrested at about 1:15 a.m. Sept. 16 after an officer stopped a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder she was driving in the 3700 block of Jeffco Boulevard. The officer stopped the SUV because the driver was wanted on a warrant from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s for stealing a motor vehicle, the report said.
After arresting the woman on the warrant, an Arnold Police officer allegedly found a substance that appeared to be meth, a capsule that appeared to contain fentanyl and a glass smoking pipe in the center console. The woman was taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City because she appeared to suffer a medical episode, according to the report.
At the hospital, the arresting officers allegedly saw a bag in the woman’s waistband. The bag contained 42 more capsules that appeared to contain fentanyl, Arnold Police reported.
After the woman was examined, it was determined she was fit for confinement, and she was transported to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the report said.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for second-degree drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Christopher said.
