man in handcuffs

A 47-year-old Arnold man recently was arrested in connection with the theft of checks that were forged and then used to pay for auto repairs, Arnold Police report.

Christian Brothers Automotive, 2190 Church Road, reported the incident about 7 a.m. April 17, after the suspect allegedly stole the checks from a woman he formerly had a relationship with and then forged two of the checks and used them to pay for $1,500 in repairs made to a vehicle that the two had previously shared and that the man left with, Detective Lt. James Jones said.

The man was arrested April 23 and allegedly admitted to stealing and forging the checks, Jones said.

He was booked and released pending application for warrants. Arnold Police will seek felony charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for stealing and forgery, Jones said.
