A St. Louis County woman has been charged for allegedly forcing her way into a Eureka home and refusing to leave the house, court records said.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on June 5 charged April Marie Muckerman, 42, with first-degree burglary, a class B felony punishable by five to 15 years in prison. As of June 6, she was being held on a $5,000 bond at the St. Louis County Jail, according to court documents.

According to the case’s probable-cause statement, Muckerman banged on the back door of a home in the 100 block of Shaw Drive at about 12:40 a.m. June 5. When a man at the house opened the door, she forced her way inside, allegedly hitting the man with the door and causing a cut to his leg.

Muckerman then allegedly ran to a bedroom, braced herself against the door and refused to leave. She eventually appeared to pass out in the bedroom, the report said.

When police arrived, Muckerman appeared to be pretending to be asleep and refused to leave before being arrested, according to the report.
