The pair work in Wells in Somerset - where the comedy police action film "Hot Fuzz" starring Simon Pegg was shot.

The 2007 blockbuster also features actors Jim Broadbent and Nick Frost as father-and-son coppers.

Dad PC Pearson, who has worked for Wells Neighbourhood Policing Team, has left a "meaningful" legacy behind.

His team says he made a "real difference" across the Somerset area and the patrol gave the family a public send-off in Wells, Somerset.

Mendip Neighbourhood Policing posted a picture of the pair standing together and wrote: "I'm PC Pearson and so is he!
