A deer has been photographed waiting at a remote train station — made famous by Harry Potter.

The stag was spotted at Glenfinnan train station — a stop on one of Scotland's most recognizable rail routes.

The stop is the closest one to the Glenfinnan Viaduct — the structure famously used to film the journey taken by the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter series.

In a social media post, ScotRail employees said: "This morning, we had a stag casually waiting for the train at Glenfinnan."

The post received tens of thousands of views and comments — with one commenter quipping "maybe the tickets were too deer."

Another said: "That's clearly James Potter as an animagus" — a reference to Harry Potter's father, who, in the series, was able to turn into a red stag.

One comment asked if the creature "had the doe for a ticket," while others suggested he was "coming back from a stag do."
