Dan Miller of High Ridge took second place in last year’s “My Best Ride” contest

Dan Miller of High Ridge took second place in last year’s “My Best Ride” contest with this picture of his 1978 Oldsmobile Delta, which he bought in 1985 as a sophomore at Eureka High School.

Jefferson County and Eureka residents of all ages are invited to share memories of their favorite vehicle or other mode of transportation in the “My Best Ride” photo contest, sponsored by Grand Times, Leader Publications’ magazine for senior citizens.

Readers are welcome to send a photo of their “best ride” along with an explanation on why it’s their favorite. Three winners will be drawn at random from among all the entries to win cash prizes – $100 for the first name drawn, $75 for the second and $50 for the third.

The deadline to enter the contest is 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29.

The Oct. 12 issue of Grand Times will feature as many entries as space allows, and additional photographs will be posted on our website, myleaderpaper.com, at a later date.

The upcoming Grand Times will also include information about the Eureka Senior Expo, set for 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 18, at The Timbers, 1 Coffey Park Lane.

Photo contest entries should include the following information:

■ Entrant’s name, age, address and phone number.

■ The date and place the photo was taken and by whom.

■ The names of any people in the photo.

■ The make, model or type of vehicle and how you obtained it.

■ Any other information about the photo that explains why it is memorable.

Send entries to: My Best Ride, c/o Leader Publications, P.O. Box 159, Festus, 63028; drop them off at the Leader office, 503 N. Second St., in Festus; or email them to news@leaderpublications.biz.

Photos accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope will be mailed back; others will be held for pickup.
