The Leader has made several changes to the way people may place and view classified ads online.
People may now place “display classified ads,” including color, logos and photos, online at a new address – classifieds.myleaderpaper.com.
In the past, customers could just place word-only classified ads online.
Also, the Leader’s classified ads are now easier to search.
“It’s great if you are looking to do something like buy a car; you can go to the category and see all the car ads,” office manager Patty Smallegan said. “It’s more user friendly.”
As always, a variety of classified ads can be placed, including announcements and help wanted ads, as well as ads for places to rent, pets, real estate, yard sales, estate sales, professional services and items for sale.
“This new system allows you to place and view any classified ads online with ease,” Smallegan said. “There are more options if you are interested in placing the ad online by yourself, but you can always still call us for help.”
When you place a classified ad online, you will be asked to choose which of the Leader’s four newspapers you want the ad to run in and the dates you want the ads to run. The Leader will email you before your ad expires and give you options to extend the run time.
Any classified ad that runs in a Leader newspaper also will run online for at least a week.
If you place an ad online, it will appear as soon as approved by a Leader staffer.
“In the past, we waited to put the ads online until the paper came out, but now ads can be put online sooner if placed online,” publisher Peggy Scott said. “We are excited for this change.”
The cost to run a 10-word-only classified ad in one of the Leader’s newspapers is $11, and the cost goes up for additional words, color, logos, photos, etc.
Also, the cost is higher if the ad is placed in more than one paper.
The Leader publishes the Jefferson County Leader, which covers towns in the south part of the county; the Arnold-Imperial Leader; the West Side Leader, which covers towns along the Hwy. 30 corridor; and the Eureka Leader, which includes Eureka and part of Wildwood.
