Ralph Brown has been promoted at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. He had been a captain, but is now a major.
He is being promoted to replace Maj. Denise Lassing, who will retire soon, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office
Brown is now third in command at the Sheriff’s Office, behind Sheriff Glenn Boyer and Lt. Col. Steve Meinberg.
In addition, five other Sheriff’s Office employees were promoted, including Lt. Dave Marshak, who is now a captain; Sgt. William Dunn, now a lieutenant; Cpl. Timothy Whitney, now a sergeant; and deputies Richard Beattie and William Whiteley, who both are now corporals.
The promotions were announced Dec. 14 and were effective immediately.
