A hot air balloon struck power lines and landed near Countryside Circle Drive off Old Hwy. 141 in unincorporated Fenton on Sunday morning (Oct. 21).
“The balloon ran low on fuel and struck an Ameren UE power line,” said Sgt. Matthew Moore of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Three people were on board when the balloon hit the power lines, the operator and two passengers, Moore said.
“(There were) no injuries,” he said.
Moore said the passengers on the balloon were already gone when deputies arrived.
Residents in the area did not report a disruption in power, he said.
