Dylan C. Kleekamp, 20, and Dustin L. Robison, 18, both of Hillsboro, were seriously hurt in a one-car accident at 3:50 a.m. today (July 16) on Sunnyside Road at Bage Road south of Hematite, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Andrew C. Perry, 18, of De Soto was driving a 2002 Ford Focus south on Sunnyside and failed to negotiate a curve before the car ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Perry, but two passengers in his car – Kleekamp and Robison – were hurt and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, according to the report.
Kleekamp was transferred to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where he was listed in satisfactory condition this afternoon, a Mercy Hospital St. Louis spokeswoman said.
Robison was treated and released, a Mercy Hospital Jefferson spokesman said.
Perry was wearing a seatbelt, but Kleekamp and Robison were not wearing them, the patrol reported.
