Two people from Festus suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle traffic accident Saturday morning, Aug. 26, at the north intersection of Hwy. 61 at Hwy. TT south of Festus.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Amanda Peters, 44, of Festus was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Trax north at 9 a.m. when she failed to stop for a stop sign and her car hit the front right side of a southbound 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup driven by David Lalumondier, 70, of Festus.
Lalumondier and a passenger in the pickup, Karen Lalumondier, 70, of Festus, both sustained moderate injuries. Both were taken by car to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
The patrol report made no mention of an injury to Peters.
All involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the report said. The Chevrolet was totaled while the pickup had extensive damage, according to the report.
