De Soto woman allegedly stabs man

Tammy Melvin

Tammy Lynn Melvin, 49, of De Soto allegedly stabbed a man at a home the two share in De Soto. The man was treated at the home but refused to be transported to a hospital, according to court records.

Melvin has been charged with third-degree domestic assault, a class E felony punishable by up to four years in prison. As of Oct. 8, she was being held on a $4,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records said.

Melvin and the man on Sept. 21 were arguing in the home and the confrontation turned physical. Melvin grabbed a knife from a holder on a counter and stabbed the man’s right forearm, according to the case’s probable-cause statement.

She fled from the house before De Soto Police arrived, but she was arrested on Oct. 7.
