Two De Soto men – one 19 and the other 33 – were hurt Wednesday evening (July 15) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. H west of Stonehouse Road west of De Soto, and the 33-year-old was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5 p.m., Joseph M. Bradley, 19, was driving a 1980 Chevrolet 1500 pickup west on the highway, and the 33-year-old, who was driving an eastbound 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse, allegedly crossed the double-yellow center line, and the front of the car struck the pickup head-on, the report said.
Both men were moderately injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
Bradley was treated and released, and the other man was transferred to Mercy St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where he was listed in good condition today (July 16), a hospital spokesman said.
Bradley was wearing a seat belt, and the other man was not wearing one, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested the 33-year-old man at 5:22 p.m. at Mercy Jefferson for the alleged DWI and for allegedly leaving the scene of the accident. His name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of this afternoon, none had been filed.
