Two Cadet women were hurt Thursday night (Sept. 24) when the car they were in was struck by a train on Hwy. 47 south of Roderick Road in Washington County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 10 p.m., Myrna L. Schrum, 54, of Cadet was driving a 2005 Ford Mustang west on Hwy. 47 and while attempting to cross railroad tracks, a 2001 locomotive struck it, the report said.
Schrum sustained minor injuries, and a passenger in the car, Myrna R. Boyer, 85, of Cadet, sustained moderate injuries, and both were taken by ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital, according to the report.
Teaira L. Bradford, 29, of Little Rock, Ark., was driving the train. No injuries were reported for her.
Neither Schrum nor Boyer was wearing a seat belt, but Bradford was wearing one, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, and the train sustained minor damage, the report said.
